Solving real problems for cloud based infrastructures

Get an update on what's happening in cloud infrastructure management at CA Technologies

Cloud based infrastructures are becoming the norm in today’s application economy. While they bring tremendous benefits in terms of agility and innovation, they also bring some challenges that organizations need to overcome to really reap benefits. At CA we are committed to providing solutions to our customers that allow them to adopt and maximize value of today’s dynamic, hybrid and cloud based environments. Here are some recent highlights.

What’s new in CA UIM Our cloud monitoring solution, CA Unified Infrastructure Management (CA UIM) is used by hundreds of organizations around the globe including enterprises and managed service providers.

CA Unified Infrastructure Management’s (CA UIM’s) latest release 8.5.1 earned rave reviews from analysts and industry experts. In addition to having 140 probes for monitoring various on-prem and cloud based assets, the release comes with log analytics and telemetry capabilities. “The latest enhancements, and those coming soon in the next release, should help strengthen its position as an intelligent and predictive toolset that enables administrators to quickly – and in some cases proactively – react and remediate performance and capacity anomalies.” Likewise, industry thought leader and blogger, David Linthicum shared his perspective on UIM and highlighted how contextual monitoring of log and metric data can yield a marked difference in the way hybrid infrastructure is managed.

Bespin Global, a leading MSP in Korea recently adopted CA UIM as the single pane of glass for managing hybrid cloud based infrastructure across AWS, Azure, Aliyun and Hostway FlexCloud platforms. John Lee, CEO of Bespin stated, “Previously, we would have used two separate tools which meant trying to combine and understand two sets of data. With CA UIM we can use one solution to monitor physical and cloud platforms and have a single dashboard view of all the data from both. This reduces the variables and makes pinpointing problems much quicker and easier.”

In a similar case study, Eurobras in Latin America reported a 65 percent reduction in tickets from infrastructure related incidents.

Customers can drive further optimization in terms of tickets reduction by leveraging the bi-directional integration of CA UIM (performance monitoring) and CA Spectrum (fault management).

Try CA’s Digital Experience Insights

We also recently launched the trial for a cloud based Infrastructure Management service, as a part of CA’s Digital Experience Insights (DXI) platform that provides an integrated end-to-end offering of applications to infrastructure management. The Infrastructure Management service elevates cloud monitoring to the next level by providing a quick minimum-touch on-boarding process and a modern, interactive and collaborative user interface. With out-of-box support for AWS, Azure and on-prem assets, and integration with Pagerduty, the solution comes with turnkey abilities for modern cloud based applications.

To sum it up, the developments in infrastructure management serves as a lynchpin to CA’s Application-to-Infrastructure story. Integrated with application performance management and operational analytics, it presents an opportunity to customers to drive more efficiency and gain end to end visibility necessary to deliver a phenomenal user experience.
